At EngineersLab ("the site", "we"), we care about our visitors' privacy. This page explains what data is processed and how while you use the site.
The inputs you enter into the calculators on the site (unit converter, beam calculation, etc.) are processed only in your browser; they are never sent to or stored on any server.
Your theme preference (light/dark) and the user mode you select (engineer/engineering student) are kept only in your own device's browser local storage (localStorage); this information is not shared with us or with third parties.
When you create a membership/account (Sign In / Register), your name and email address are stored in our hosting provider Netlify's authentication infrastructure (Netlify Identity); this data is used only so you can sign in to your account and access member-only content offered in the future, and is not shared with third parties.
When you fill out the contact form, your name, email, and message are sent to us via the form-processing service (Web3Forms) and used only to respond to your request.
Our site may use third-party advertising services such as Google AdSense to display ads. These services may use cookies to serve interest-based ads and may process technical data such as your IP address.
These third-party service providers' own privacy policies apply; EngineersLab does not directly control these services' data processing practices.
We use Google Analytics to understand site traffic (e.g. visitor count, most-used tools). This tool places a cookie in your browser to produce anonymous, aggregate statistics; this data is not used to identify you personally.
Both advertising and analytics cookies only activate once you accept the cookie consent notice at the bottom of the page; if you don't consent, the site continues to work fully.
The site contains links to third-party sources such as DergiPark, ORCID, standards bodies, and academic databases. These sites have their own privacy policies; EngineersLab is not responsible for the content or data practices of these sites.
The site does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
Under Turkey's Law on the Protection of Personal Data No. 6698 (KVKK), you have the right to request information about, correct, or delete your processed personal data. You can reach us via our contact page for such requests.
